"Angels can fly because they take themselves lightly." – G. K. Chesterton

It couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy.  Nonetheless I wasn’t out in the streets partying last night and I won’t do so tonight either.  The tack that I’m going to take here is to say that the death of bin Laden is morally in the middle as far as desirability.  It could be worse or it could be better.  It would be worse if bin Laden remained alive and had the ability to plot more terrorist attacks.  It would be better if he had repented of his sins and come to salvation. For a more detailed opinion, I think guy shows a fine-tuned moral sense while responding to the event:

But win or lose, I don’t think many folks will dispute that the world is a better place with bin Laden gone.  Jesus commands us to love our enemies.  However, it is only the small-mindedness of modern thinking which leads people to conclude that loving our enemies is always mutually exclusive with killing them.

Oh, and also:
